A twenty minute car-ride from Papamoa Beach will take you to the heart of Mt Maunganui, a popular cruise ship destination, with a vibrant town centre and myriad of cafes restaurants and bars. Towering over the harbour and ocean beaches is the mountain Mauao 232m above sea level, you can walk 3.4 km path around the base or follow tracks to the summit for 360deg breathtaking views of the coastline.
You might choose a coastal drive to Whakatane and join a boat tour to White Island, NZs most continuously active volcano, that hisses and roars from steaming vents or drive 50 minutes to Rotorua a top NZ tourist destination renown for it Maori culture, thermal activity and geysers. There is much to see and do in the BOP and Ccee's Studio would be the perfect place for you to stay while you explore.
